Overview
Effect House helps creators craft effects and filters for TikTok community.
We aim for Effect House to become the go-to tool for creation, fostering a community of dedicated creators. Badges was introduced as a way to reward creators after achieving certain milestones.

Discovery
Our design community wants a more engaging experience with clear steps for progress. We worked on that while focusing on boosting DAU and keeping users engaged.
Discord community Research
We established a channel for communication with our creators by forming a community on Discord. This initiative not only enabled us to gather real-time feedback on the tool and creation program but also provided a platform for creators to suggest future features and improvements. The Discord community proved to be a valuable hub for fostering collaboration and enhancing our offerings based on the insights and requests shared by our creators.
Why build it?
Our design community expressed a need for more depth, (actions + clear steps to progress) in their user journey. A badge program creates a strong sense of identity for creators and helps to gain visibility and recognition.

We analyzed user pain points in the creation and post-effect cycle, aiming to establish an ecosystem that fosters sustained creation and sharing. Emphasizing learning resources plays a crucial role in encouraging less experienced users to persist in their creative endeavors and grow on our platform.

Who is it for?
Primary: New designer — TikTok users and video creators who are excited about effects but need support in learning resources for the tool, goal setting, and consistent encouragement to create in a new medium.
Secondary: Experienced designers — Effect designers with success and experience on other AR platforms looking to build a new audience on a new platform, gain recognition
Design
Starting with badge and reward definition was the priority and then began to build off of that. Initiating with early concepts, interactions, and badge design served as the foundation for establishing an engaging and enjoyable reward system.
